I get that look whether I want it or not, so as for me I truly don't have much use for padding. Now the nipple thing, that I didn't think of. Mine aren't very prominent so I mostly don't care. I know some women ("Is it cold in here?" "Oh, that? I'm always, um, cold.") who might prefer a smoothing of that contour.
