"Blue spot" parking and other errands

Tomorrow morning I have no physical therapy appointment and no morning meeting at work. I will show my gratitude for this rare occurrence by standing in line at the DMV. If the three or four scribbled-out mistakes the doctor made on my form aren't a problem, I'll get my temporary parking placard tomorrow. I coulda used it today. I'm glad I'll have it. I hope I don't need a new form.

If I juggle things well, I'll have the same situation next Thursday, and my cats will go to the vet, long overdue. I will ask to have [livejournal.com profile] jackiecat's fur trimmed back a lot so that (tmi here) (don't read the rest of this sentence) (you were warned) SOMEthing she eats will have a chance of reaching her other end.

Another week and I can get my brakes maintained... if they can get the car back to me the same day. I don't (yet) have two days in a row without appointments requiring driving.

i don't know how you keep up this pace. like you said in an earlier post (taht i haven't made it back to yet), it really IS like having a 2nd job. i often joke that if i didn't have to work, i'd be healthy. or that i just need a wife to take care of the details (cooking, cleaning, etc) so i can work and take care of myself.

I soooooooo need a wife. I think you're right, if you didn't have to work, you'd at least be healthiER. So would I, possibly. (Hard to say 'cause right now I'm not skipping much. I will be skipping stuff soon, though.)

I soooooooo need a wife.

I can be a house husband. Does that count? Where are applications being accepted? :-)

I'll get my temporary parking placard tomorrow.

Once you get it you'll wonder why on earth you wondered whether to get it or not. Image

ROFL ... I know whereof you speak!! [livejournal.com profile] valcat has the same problem. Image

Yay! Now I get to hope that I don't have to renew it. (I'm still crossing my fingers that this scribbled-over form will pass muster.)

My sympathies to [livejournal.com profile] valcat -- wait, I mean "my sympathies to She Who Cleans Up After [livejournal.com profile] valcat." :-)

Cats and hairballs

There are theories that hair should not make cats sick, that cats are designed to have hair go through without irritating (witness wild cat poop being all fur). For a long time, I thought my cat had hairball issues (one of my two black, long-haired cats threw up lots; the other never did), but it was IBD. Don't know where I fall on the continuum of belief of hairballs causing illness, but it's interesting information.

That is interesting. I am inclined to believe that cats evolved to deal with eating their own hair, with the possible exception of longhaired domestic cats (humans have mucked with domestic cats in various ways over the years -- there aren't wild cats with that kind of hair to body-size ratio). When mine throws up, it's all hair, so I've been figuring she just has too much hair to deal with it. Maybe she DOES have IBD though. How'd you find that out?

If the hairball remedies help, maybe that's all it is. My kitty lost a lot of weight, too. Found out it was IBD through like the sixth invasive diagnostic test. They get suspicious that somethign like that is IBD, but I guess they can't prove it without a mucosal sample.

If a steady diet of hypoallergenic or novel, single protein source food helps, then it might be a food allergy or sensitivity (which is what they think IBD is). Or the OTC hairball remedies and foods help, and maybe it's not IBD...
