Impatient Idealist

My mother's pool uses passive solar heating with a combination of blue bubble wrap solar blankets & black pvc piping on her roof. The system works best in summer. Currently, it is in need of repairs. The pvc piping sometimes springs leaks during the winter (due to water freezing in the pipes) & the blankets need to be replaced as the sun has damaged a large portion of the bubble wrap. (The plastic cracks & breaks from sun damage when the wrap is stored out of the pool but un-covered from the sun).
