Exercise Log

Half way round the building on the side with the three big storm drains and bad camber, then turned around and came back. My arms hate me. Heck, I hate me. ;-) New levels of exercise self-torture: uphill (one spot on the side of the building has a SLIGHT hill), cambered, and into the wind.

Less than 10 minutes from inside the building to back inside the building. Didn't break a sweat - it's chilly out.

I think I'll start posting these "private", 'cause after a while they'll get boring.

No, don't make them private. Because *I* like them.

LJ-cuts are best. Preferably with (at least) a one-line summary. Then those of us who want to can follow along too.

Do I sense progress?

Not sure yet -- I think so. 3/4 of the way around *and then turn around and come back* tomorrow, I hope, and I'll see how my arms respond to that!

I think the marathoners who "run" in wheelchairs are just as fit as the runners. Yes, they get a break downhill, but pushing for 26 miles has got to be hard. I think you are doing great with this!

Yeah, I bet their hearts and lungs are just as healthy. I'm not sure I've ever seen a woman do it -- we don't get useful upper bodies, so it's an extra downer to have lost my lower -- but that doesn't have to stop me from doing shorter distances.

It'll take a long time for me to get bored with them.

No, don't! I'm interested. I may not comment every time, but I'm following your progress, silently cheering you. (So if you thought you heard a "Go, C.J., go!" that was me.)

I would like to be able to continue to listen and support you while you deal with this. Obviously it is your choice and I support whatever you decide to do. Hang in there.

Here (Boston area) at the marathon every year not only do women race in wheelchairs but there are enough to require their own start time.

Awesome! I might do the fabled Boston Marathon yet, whether my feet improve or not! :-)

No!!!

Don't make them private! I think they are interesting.
