1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
Let's see: Hopscotch, Bringing Up Baby, a couple of Disney things still in shrink wrap... I will guess something like ten.
2) The last film I bought:
Probably one of those Disney things still in shrink wrap. Maybe a decade ago.
3) The last film I watched:
A back-to-back showing of Run, Lola, Run and American Pie (don't remember what order). I was staying up all night to pre-jet-lag myself for a trip. That would have been in July of 2003. I'm not sure if I've seen one since then.
4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
All of these have properties that set them apart from (my impression of) the standard fare.
1. Hopscotch (Clever and funny throughout.)
2. Sleepless in Seattle (Both main characters are decent human beings. That's rare, and I treasure it.)
3. Working Girl (Tenacity and talent win out over plagiarism.)
4. Bringing Up Baby (Cool felines. Romantic comedy, but not a "the asshole gets the girl" film... in this case the girl's the one who might be no prize, but it's still a welcome relief from the other way round.)
5. Bull Durham (Female lead who's unique, independent, and fun.)
5) Pick five people and have them put this in their journal:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
