I got the hernia surgery done, and it helped a lot. Dr. Metzger was so much more thorough and careful than the last doctor who did pelvic surgery on me that it was a completely different experience. It did cost a lot though; my insurance agreed to pay and then reneged on paying after the surgery. We fought with them, but they wore us out.
Still and all, it's worth it to live pain free. I hope that you get to do it.
