Loss and sadness and frustration

I just got the season's first Bay to Breakers notification e-mail.

I'm sad and angry.

*sigh*

I'm sorry. :(

I know the feelings, too.

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
*nod*. I know you must. :-(

Do you ever get angry at God? Me, I'm not strongly deist, so I don't... but having anger without a target is weird enough that it's in these moments that I think most strongly that there is a God.

I apologize if this question's too personal. No reply necessary.

gah. i'm sorry. :(

Thanks. *deep breath*...

Thanks. *hug back*

Golly, I'm sorry. I wish I could loan you my knees for the day, since I have basically no interest in running Bay to Breakers. :^)

[identity profile] dawnd.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, FEET, probably. But you knew what I meant. :^)

Heh - I did, and thanks. :-)

*nod*, I figured maybe you'd had similar feelings once or twice in your life. :-/

Oh CJ... I'm so sorry. I know how proud you were when you ran in that.

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I was. *sigh* Thanks.

I haven't given up yet, but it's sad to realize I'm going to miss the second one in a row and there is as yet no clear path to getting better.

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
*hugsback* Thanks.

I'm sorry, CJ. That really really sucks.

Are your feet showing any improvement lately?

(and sorry for the double post - my default user icon got replaced by something really weird!)

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, I don't get the really weird one? ;-)

No real improvement. I have some new things to try, which is something.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Thanks.

*hugs* I was so mad when I had to skip a race on Sunday morning, I had to go to the shooting range, so I can only imagine how upset you must be about that particular race.

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. This one's my fave, and this will be the second year in a row I can't run it. Grrrrrrrrr. Maybe I oughtta go to the range! :-)

Empathy

*hugs*

I was all set to run the race 2 years ago -- healed from the knee damage of the previous year, was finally hitting my distances, etc. -- when I came down with Mono a month before the race; it lasted better than a year.

This year -- I have hope, though a week into training I'm grounded by a cold that has set of my asthma something awful. The doc has me breathing steroids, so there's a chance I can get back to training.

Anyway, I empathize with you completely.

I'm glad you have hope. I still have a little, too, though not for this year of course. Good luck getting back into it! I am cheering for you.
