NaNo's off my plate. PHEW.

I should post a cute little worm. Okay:

Zokutou word meter
52,296 / 50,000
(104.0%)

That word count is drastically inflated. I think I'm more like 50200 real words. Hey, I don't care. I'm sure about the important bit: it's over 50K.

Boy oh boy, is it crap. But I have a nifty little certificate in Acrobat format saying that it was fifty thousand plus words of crap.

With a lot of work, it could be enjoyable to read. That's more than I can say for my 2003 NaNovel. Improvement!

Food soon.

Thank you! I am SO glad to have that done. Next month I'll be proud of it; right now I'm immensely relieved that I can concentrate on the other two very large things I'm trying to do on a deadline. And on my job, yeah, that too. :-)

I'm thinking snow thoughts for you!

Yay, you!!!! (Way more exclamation points are warranted, but I didn't wanna go crazy.)

(I have sat myself down to write today and ended up with a net of about 200 words. You rock.)

Aw, thank you!

Learning Japanese and writing all the choreo I'll need for the convention in Tokyo in a month.

Monday, November 29th, 2004 08:57 am (UTC)
Thanks!

Yeah, some writing days are like that. I had days where I netted something like 200 words. I've discovered doing NaNo when I'm busy is a lot harder than doing it when I'm not!
Monday, November 29th, 2004 08:57 am (UTC)
Woohoo, my Crap Certificate! Thanks, Dan! :-)
Monday, November 29th, 2004 08:58 am (UTC)

Thanks! Wow am I ever relieved.
Monday, November 29th, 2004 09:01 am (UTC)
Indeed it is! With lots of work, it could be something good, so I'm pleased about that. But mostly I'm just glad I don't have to look at it again until after the new year!
Monday, November 29th, 2004 09:43 am (UTC)
Congratulations!
Monday, November 29th, 2004 09:45 am (UTC)
Thanks!

Your approach also seems quite sane. At this point (now that I've done it twice) I'm not sure what I'm proving to myself either.

Hooray! I had a Nanowrimo goal to finish last year's novel (which I wrote 50K words on but didn't finish the story), but I only wrote one word. Well, better luck to me next year :-)
Monday, November 29th, 2004 10:33 am (UTC)
One word! That sounds like something out of Hitchhiker's Guide. Was it a word you liked very much? :-)
Monday, November 29th, 2004 10:40 am (UTC)
No, I only did it so that I could force the file to generate a new wordcount!
Monday, November 29th, 2004 10:50 am (UTC)
Aw dang!

Yeah, better luck to you next year. I may use next November to flesh out and improve this year's, too. Unfinished work butters no parsnips, or whatever the phrase is.

There's always NaNoEdMo in March for me to look forward to...
