Work less than good. Rest of life improving.

I've been grumpy about work lately, and early this week (late last week? sometime) I made a freaking brilliant observation: if I can't solve THAT problem, maybe I can solve OTHER THINGS in the meantime.

So last weekend I made jelly and I made brownies; I called a friend I hadn't seen in months; I made progress on organizing my photos from the recent trip; I did some badly-needed pruning in the flowerboxes outside my house; I called the doctor and got started on the Injections of Death; I did a couple of errands and cleaned up the living room significantly; I set up my pretty Northern Lights picture in the office.

I'm still considering getting my hair cut short (maybe I'm ready to, maybe not) and mulling over whether to drop my car off for repairs or search for a new(er) one. In another week or two I might be able to start running again. Maybe I could hike even sooner than that.

Solve what I can. It's a useful idea.

Is your hair as long as in your icon? I cut mine short every once in awhile. I cut it last August to the lenghth in my icon, and now it's just past my shoulders. I can put it up in a ponytail again!!!

At least you are somewhere somewhat warm, so your ears won't get frostbitten. I was a dorknut one year and I cut it off above my ears in December!

My hair hangs a couple of inches below my belt. I cut it short about once every decade or so, which means I'm overdue.

Yeah, I've had short hair in December in New England. It's one of the annoying ironies of the universe that short hair gets hat-head worse than really long hair does.

Wow! Cool hair! I can only get to just past my shoulders/mid-back before I get headaches from the weight.

Oh wow. You must have gorgeous thick luxurious hair. Mine's very thin (and very fine, too, which sadly means it takes most of a day to dry). I have this theory that "there is hair that is meant to be grown long, and hair that is not". Mine is not, sadly. But I do it anyway 'cause I'm too lazy and cheap for haircuts.

I have thick but fine hair if that makes sense. Mine takes forver to dry, too. That's why I cut it last year. I was swimming and it was a pain to take an hour to blow dry it. I am such a lazy sot. I am not a big fan of getting my hair cut either. I think it sucks that it's cheaper for guys. But I guess theirs is easier. Bleah.

I'm lazy too. I don't blow dry it, but it's also a pain to wait for it to dry on its own... can't win! :)

Which is precisely the reason I've been letting my hair grow, after a couple of decades of keeping it either fairly or very short! It's shoulder length now, and I haven't decided where to stop yet. I'm not going to waist length, but I do want it to be long enough to put up in a pretty way, so I don't have just the dorky little sticking-out ponytail which is all I can get with it so far.

I'm still considering getting my hair cut short

Now, why would you want to go and do something like that? ;-)

(Seriously, though, that's just my preference talking - it's your hair. :-)

I could write a post about the management of hair this long, but my current front-running reason is that I'd like to dye it forest green and I don't want to wait six years for it to clean itself up. The rest would be side benefits.

I think I'll write that post anyway. It needs to go to a NaNoWriMo forum. I don't know what it is about authors and long hair and ignoring the laws of physics.

Yeah, I can imagine. Toni's hair has been, and Al's currently is, well down her back.

I think forest green would suit your skin tone. :-)

Thank you! :) I can hope.

Thanks for the jelly recipe. :)

Can't imagine you with short hair. That doesn't mean it'd be bad, just that I can't imagine it.

You're welcome!

I might have some old pictures lying around. My complexion's a lot better now than it was then :)
