Running: good news and bad news

Physical therapist and I both think my feet are getting better. He gave the OK for me to try running this weekend. I'm supposed to report back and say how much pain it caused. YAY! I can run! It's amazing how the inability to run has affected my energy (because I'm not exercising) and my self-image as "someone who used to get exercise but doesn't now". I hope my feet do okay.

Guess what woke me up this morning. Yup... bad belly cramps. *sigh* I'm sitting here now waiting for the painkillers to cover enough of it that I can sanely attempt to run. Painkillers may be effective enough today, and they may not; maybe I won't get to go at all. But I know that if I don't wait until a lot of it is masked I'll have to be carried home in agony. It's happened. :-(

*hugs*

I hope you get to run today.

I did go - I'm so jazzed! My abdomen is paying for that now, which is expected, but I'm glad I got a "look" at how my feet are. So far, they outlast my wind. :-)

bad belly cramps

Oh no, I didn't know they were contagious!

Wishing you back that chocolate and heating pad, along with a nice cup of tea, a lower-back massage, and lots of the painkiller of your choice.

At least your feet are getting better!

Yeah, they're contagious: if you get the wrong chromosome, very easy to catch from your parents, you lose. ;-)

Thanks for the painkiller wishes. I ate a lot of 'em!

My feet ARE getting better! I went a mile. My belly's paying for that now, of course. I was panting and wheezing, but that's a fixable problem! So now I get to see if I can go another mile tomorrow. Two days in a row is an important test.
