The best invention ever is still birth control pills. The second best is still Aleve.

I've discovered the third best: lidocaine patches.

Mmmmm. Druuuuuugs.

I'll agree with Aleve, most of the time. Sometimes OTC pain drugs just don't do squat with me. Can't speak for the BCPs. ;-)

BCP stands for Best Control of Pain. Using Aleve would be like fighting a dragon with a hatpin, if I didn't also have the BCPs.

What kind of pain makes a big difference, I've learned. Vicodin doesn't touch nerve pain. Aleve doesn't do headaches (for me). Ah, the things I wish I'd known when I was fourteen!

They take a bit of getting used to, that's for sure! For me, though, if there's enough pain they are not really weird. It's like the pain levels wipe out the weirdness. Same for Vicodin, oddly enough. If I'm in enough pain Vicodin doesn't make me loopy in the slightest.
