It's the first really painful day of my period. Ow, ow, ow. Not only am I at work, but this evening I have Rob's square dance club, which he tossed at me because he wanted to go to Alaska on a whim. It's a C2 club and I'm not nearly as relaxed calling C2 as I am calling C1 (tomorrow night's club, which he also tossed at me in favor of Alaska). For the amount of pain I'm going to be in and have to stay cogent on stage, he better have a VERY GOOD time on this trip. Otherwise tonight's dancers will never forgive him for what I will inadvertently do to them.
At least the painkillers are mostly covering it right this instant. I have been holding still for a while. I've long since built up an "immunity" to aspirin and by now even ibuprofen doesn't have a lot of effect unless I take 4X the recommended dose. But Aleve is new enough that I haven't built up a resistance, so as long as I hold still, 2X the recommended dose works pretty well even on a day like today. The pain comes through only as a low throb.
But I'm going to have to get up and walk soon. I need to pee.
