My, this is a lot of rain. I hear the real storm will arrive this afternoon.

I have yet to figure out how rain makes people overturn their cars. Flipping a car is an impressive bit of Newtonian physics.

Perhaps rain causes them to think they are driving on a non-Euclidean geometric plane?

I've noticed that people tend to drive faster in the rain. I'm not sure if it's because they have some psychological need to get out of the rain (even though they aren't really in it) and they want to hurry to get where they are going. High speed and wet pavement are not a good combination.
