Was it just sending it or editing it that was difficult?
I've noticed that some friends of mine who have been out of the job market for a while have found the act of putting themselves out there difficult. For some time, they haven't considered a job as part of their identity and are concerned they either won't be able to impress others based on gaps in their record or no longer fit into the existing workplace (and maybe even really not want to work as they find their unemployed life less stressful and closer to how they want to be).
Just some thoughts...may not apply to you at all, but perhaps something to consider. Good luck!
