Ouch

Okay, ditch what I said earlier about little pain and light flow. Today is an exception. Pain rivals a good month -- Aleve isn't quite doing it -- and I've never seen flow like this. The flow is seriously impressive. If it didn't hurt, my reaction would be COOL! because I get like that with gross icky things.

I think my body is reminding me that it is boss, that resistance is futile, and that there is no escape.

When I was in my twenties, there were honestly days when I'd sit in the bathtub naked with a book, and one day when I was standing up on the bus in a skirt, sneezed, and was suddenly sticky to my knees. Fortunately, it was a mid-calf skirt, and I was about five blocks from home.

But damn. Why can't we be nice and average instead of this?

Yikes. I've never had it like that. This isn't bad when compared against what you just described!

Still, it's more than I've ever had. I thought my second Super Plus tampon of the day simply hadn't seated well or something, because coughing was giving me That Sensation, but when I pulled it out it was genuinely full, and ... er... imagine a cork from a bottle. *sigh*.

Doc gets a phone call tomorrow.

Yikes! I hope you're not losing so much blood that you'll be anemic.

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2003-07-02 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
If it keeps on like this I'll worry about that, yeah. So far I'm hoping today is not going to be the pattern for most of my days!

Sorry, but I celebrate my freaky lack of a uterus every time I read one of your entries...

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2003-07-02 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
No apology necessary - anyone without a uterus is far luckier than I. (Freaky? why so? Is that the way you were born?)

Oh man, you RULE! The Goddess LOVES you! Wow. 8-)

One of those days when wings don't cut it, eh? Been there, glad I'm not there anymore, sorry you're there still!!!

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2003-07-03 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
Wings would just channel stuff around ;-)

If I can scrape together the money, I may just go for the hysterectomy. We'll see.

[livejournal.com profile] evergrey is threatening the same thing. and although I can understand the sentiment, I heavily advise against having any un-necessary surgeries. I gave two sons up for adoption 19 and 16 years ago. The first one was born C-section which caused severe nerve damage. The was a quarter size area on my stomach that had no sensation at all (not even the sensation of numbness) that you could stick a needle into and I would not have felt it. This was right above the pubic bone to the left side. The entire area affected by numbness is closer to the size of a large grapefruit and affects nerves extending from my stomach down through the left hip and the left vaginal wall. This has as you can imagine caused me sexual problems that I didn't identify for years, I just thought I was hard to please ;-p. So please, please, please, consider surgery as a last resort. They could end up taking out more than you intended.
I had very heavy flow back in January, short cycle (25 days) and bled for 10 days. But the doc's just said it can happen occasionally (I went in for a pelvic while bleeding still, it was strange to say the least). I would only consider surgery if it happened something like every month for a year!

Yeah, I definitely don't LIKE the idea of surgery. However, in the last thirty days I have had six good ones. Of the other twenty-four some were so bad I didn't sleep. I'll take surgery over that if I have to. Fortunately I know there are other things to try first. I'm crossing my fingers that one or more of them works.

I have been working with a channeler/healer for about 15 years, known her much longer, named Lois Crane. She's helped me when the doctors couldn't tell me anything. Let me know if your desperate enough to try her.

Ceej, are you on the low dose or regular dose of bc pills? I had breakthrough bleeding and menstrual symtpons on the low dose which were cleared up by switching to the regular dose pills...

*Hugs*!

[identity profile] cjsmith.livejournal.com 2003-07-07 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooo, good information, thanks. I'm on a regular dose. If "breakthrough bleeding" means periods heavier than you've ever had, then yes, that's EXACTLY what I've got. Maybe I can switch to a more sturdy dose.

[identity profile] redgrrl.livejournal.com 2003-07-08 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, no that's NOT what "breakthrough bleeding" means. Hmm, I don't know if there *is* a sturdier dose of bc pills. Are you taking them every day religiously? Sometimes I get bleeding when I forget a day. In fact, I forgot my prescription when we went on vacation and had to use another week of the lighter dose pills (that I had in my purse). So now I do have breakthrough bleeding and probably will for another week.

Here's hoping they find something that works for you!

Uh, no that's NOT what "breakthrough bleeding" means.

Yeah, I didn't think so either! (grump.)

I don't know if there *is* a sturdier dose of bc pills.

I wouldn't be surprised. Some women have really weird hormonal situations. Heck, if there isn't a sturdier dose, I'm not too proud to take two. :-)

Are you taking them every day religiously? Sometimes I get bleeding when I forget a day.

I did forget one day, and took the forgotten one as quickly as I realized. That was probably the trigger for the two to three gusher-fountain days. But I was already bleeding by then, and am still now, so I'll cross my fingers for a bigger hammer to hit it with.

Are you on a continuous regime, or do you suspend a week for a "normal period"?

Here's hoping they find something that works for you!

Me toooooo! Thanks!!
