I now have a cute little propane grill. I do not in any way need to OWN this item, but I bet it's cheaper than renting one somehow. It was also cheaper than buying even one dinner out, and considering I have four buffalo-burgers in the freezer waiting for me, I think I did all right. It may go to Goodwill when I'm done with the burgers.

Man, it's hot out. I keep calling San Jose's ATIS to get a current temperature, but San Jose must be in the shade: they say it's 29C (84F) and there is no way it's that cool in this corner of Sunnyvale. Walking outside is like getting wrapped in a burning newspaper.

The Netscape weather feed is reporting 80F for Sunnyvale right now. From what you say, that's low compared to the part you're in. It's all of 67F and rainy here, with high humidity. I wish we could split the difference.

I wish we could, too. My folks in Boston have been getting drenched for days on end. They could use a little of this sunshine as well.

Last Thursday it hit 40C here. And it was quite humid, too. I don't even want to know what 40C is in F; I think the number itself would kill me, even though it's cooled down quite a bit. (Needless to say, Thursday was a BIG migraine day for me. My head hates this heat).

YEOW. That's hot. I didn't imagine Egypt having much humidity -- are there humid parts of the year and dry parts, or is it humid all the way round?

Wish I could pipe you some of the East Coast's cool rain. I bet [livejournal.com profile] wcg could spare some.

Cairo is surprisingly humid. Nothing like Indiana, mind you, but humid enough that "dry heat" isn't *exactly* what we get. Yes, we're in the middle of the sahara, with almost no rainfall -- but we're also right next to this big ol' river, which has a palatable effect on the air around us.

The winter is usually more humid than the summer, so you don't *usually* get the really hot AND humid combination, but we sure did last Thursday. It was literally like stepping into an oven. I think the weather just did that so I would be happy with these 36C days with less humidity. And I am!! :)
