True? Kind? Necessary?

I've heard these questions attributed to Mister Rogers:

Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it necessary?

I go for two out of three.

OK, I admit I have a little trouble with the "kind and necessary but not true" combo. The other two combos are just fine. One makes friends and the other makes career turning point opportunities. ;-)

A lot of timely egoboosting can be kind and necessary but not true.

Yup. I have trouble being the one to deliver it, though. Seems too fake somehow.

I agree. Truth is a requirement, and well as either Kind or Necessary. An unnecessary unkind truth, is by definition - unnecessary, leaving the underlying motivation - unkind.
