Post-op appointment went well. I brought him cookies to thank him for how smoothly and flawlessly everything went. I brought in three stills from the movie (THANK YOU [livejournal.com profile] gs for your help making those!) and my doctor gave me a short anatomy lesson.

The red splotch he looked at a few times is "just something vascular," not endometriosis, even though it's right where endo should be. He kept peering at it to make sure it wasn't. Cool. The lumpy white things are indeed ovaries, the stringy bits are ligaments, the really gloppy bit is the end of a Fallopian tube, the red balloon is of course the uterus, and the big smooth pale mass with the orange blobs is the bowel with (I don't remember the name) fatty tissue that hangs out around the bowel. The bladder is anterior, which is why it didn't show in the stills I chose; the liver and spleen and suchlike are behind the camera, above the bellybutton (especially since my legs were elevated).

More questions I asked:

The embarrassing noises produced by my digestion lately are, he says, probably lingering effects from being inflated with gas, and should go away completely. Good. They're loud.

The continual bleeding is my cycle being upset, not too unusual with surgery. It should correct itself with the next cycle. Good. I'm getting tired of washing blood out of stuff.

He even says the small lump at the end of the upper scar should go away. I sure won't complain about that!
