I went flying this afternoon! Last time I flew was a bit over two months ago. 1.3 hours today, with nine landings, and only one of those was something I'd consider embarrassing.
If a West Valley member (student, licensed pilot, anyone) doesn't fly for ninety days, they're considered to be rusty, and they have to get checked out with an instructor again. That checkout can be as short or as long as the instructor needs to make sure the member is safe. I didn't want to reach my ninety days. :-)
Personally, though, I thought I might be rusty, so I asked Rob to fly with me. (
johnreen, we coulda negotiated the price of that timeslot...) I wanted him to be more of a safety net than an instructor per se, and he did a great job of drawing that line.
Now I need to schedule that last 0.6 hours of hood work with Benjamin for my WINGS, and then start on taildraggers! Taildraggers! You know what that means -- even the puniest taildragger I've ever flown was (somewhat) ACRO CAPABLE!
Getting there!
