There's a brand-new, never-found-yet (as of last night) geocache near the edge of a shopping area close to my house. Last night I ACHED to get over there to see if I could find it and be first! But no, a) Rob's handheld GPS receiver which I'd need to borrow was in his airplane, b) I could not drive over there 'cause I'd had a glass of wine, c) I sure as heck couldn't walk, not on these feet over a mile one way, d) Rob was worried about his upcoming checkride

**TODAY**, everyone wish him well

and didn't want to drive me over for a probably-fruitless search with no GPS receiver. I looked at the listing and saw that one person who had found thirteen hundred caches had failed to find it. Me with no GPSr, in the dark -- no way. I sighed and went to sleep.

Well, this morning I headed over to the drugstore for my latest prescription. You know you're pretty @#$! up when you buy one of those little pill-minders with slots for "morning", "noon" etc and your meds don't fit in the boxes. (Or else I'm taking way too many vities.) After I got my prescription I thought what the heck, I'll at least drive by the place where the X showed this geocache. It's right by the drugstore. Why not?

I saw a guy in a blue truck pull up to a very undesirable parking space just where I was aiming. Darn. I pulled behind the drugstore and made a U-turn. By the time I came back around, he was standing in the parking lot with his GPS receiver in his hand, looking intently at it. He looked up when he saw me and I made a hand signal through the windshield: ME TOO (point to self, 2 fingers). He grinned.

If no one had found it earlier that morning, he'll probably be first. I half wonder if I should have asked to tag along with him so he could log the find and I could drop off my travel bug. :)

Since the previous NSAID (Voltaren) wasn't doing anything, Dr. O switched me to a new one. I'm starting on that today.

Guess what I got. Just guess.

Indocin.

[livejournal.com profile] rfrench still hasn't called to tell me how his checkride went. I believe it was to start at ten.

Frankly, [livejournal.com profile] rfrench is enough of a perfectionist that he won't be fully happy with his performance no matter what the examiner says. Still, both he and I hope he passes. :)
