Third set of Killer Death Injections this morning. Podiatrist said: "I made a mistake. The alcohol injections are diluted with mercaine, so there IS an anaesthetic in there." Wow, I'm not insane! Plus I deeply respect that he simply said he goofed and then gave me better info. Cool doc. (Anybody need a podiatrist?)

The tumor pain is receding. I used to be able to make the whole area tingle and sting just by rolling my foot back and forth a little on the floor. Now I have to roll it JUUUUUST RIGHT to get any tingles. There's more generalized ache, as if from inflammation or a deep bruise. Doc says that's not surprising with all this crap we're doing to my feet.

Learned what "sclerosing" meant, as in "alcohol is a sclerosing agent": hardening. As the nerves harden they will become unable to conduct electricity.

So I'm walking like a little Lego person again today. :)

My NaNovel will be very silly. I hereby give myself permission for this thing to make no sense at all.

Yes, in some ways this is a cop-out. However, I think writing 50,000 words is better for me as a writer than doing nothing at all. Besides, "silly" is a good exercise for me. I haven't done much of that. (In my writing! I meant in my writing! Oh shut up.)

A friend posted a question about the words Tribe and Community. What do they mean, and what would you do for members of your Tribe? Here is my answer.

Above all, Tribe means people I trust. (While some people consider Tribe to mean something close to "family", "family" is a loaded word with me, so if I try to use that in a definition or analogy I don't get far.) So anyway, trust. Tribe also means people I care about and would miss deeply were they gone. I would stretch myself a lot to help someone in my Tribe who needed it. Someone may be part of my Tribe at one time in my life but not another, for a variety of reasons that could include but don't have to include angst or drama.

I'm still looking for my Tribe. So far, I think it's got three people in it, two of whom may or may not consider me Tribe in return. Any of this could change. Life has a way of handing that out.

I consider Community to be a group of people who have something in common, anything from simple physical location to odd sexual interests, and who communicate with each other (about that thing or other things). They may not be friends; usually they're not. I may not trust or respect them; often I don't even know them well. Chance made this grouping. However, I may have common cause with them, and I try not to piss them off.

The acrylic tea bag boxes I ordered yesterday have now been shipped. 8-)

Backstory: I have been looking for these things for over a year. I have one and wanted two more to match. Found the box my current one came in, price tag said STORABLES, went to Storables, no go. Went to Organized Living and The Container Store and others of their ilk: no go. (I can buy inferior ones anywhere. They suck, though, once I've seen the good one!) Web search on the ID code found on box: Huang Acrylic, wholesale only. Phone call: Huang says no retailers anywhere in California carry their stuff, sorry. I asked about mail order. Oh, she said, there is a website...
