I smelled smoke...

Sometimes, it's not so bad having a sensitive nose. I smelled something burning, quickly figured out it wasn't in my own cube, and wandered toward the kitchen. Sure enough, somebody had badly smoked the microwave.

Showing up at the right time meant I got invited to the party for our new PR person. I got chocolate and cider. Hee!

Unfortunately, now that I'm back at my own desk I realize it still smells pretty gnarly in here.

Chocolate Blind Spots

I was just reading an old post that reminded me I have chocolate at home. Godiva, a collection of truffles, waiting in the fridge.

What kind of moron am I that I need to be reminded I have chocolate? Do I just not have the "food = wonderful" gene that everyone else has? Heh, nothing so simple as that. I wouldn't need to be reminded if I had chicken makhni in there. Mmm, anything made with that much butter... Wait, I DO have chicken makhni in there!

*sigh*

Y'know what? I think it's that I do not trust anything that comes out of that refrigerator. I think of what food I have, and I can tell you what's in the freezer or the cabinets. I forget what's in the fridge. It's a big noisy blind spot in my kitchen.
