Almost-free weekend. I agreed to go in to work to finish up some stuff, but I could maybe have had most of today to do what I want. What am I doing? Lying around moaning, in pain.

Sing along with the chorus: oh, I just love being a girl, no there's nothing wrong with being a girl, if you don't enjoy your Goddess-given stabbing agony role in life you must need therapy...

Well THAT cheered me right up! [livejournal.com profile] branwynelf just came by with a mosaic she made for me!

A while back I had given her a big dusty dirty batch of mostly-broken tile. I was heartily relieved to get it out of the side yard, yet she seemed to think SHE should thank ME (imagine!) when taking this pile off my hands.

She used one of the smaller whole tiles as a base for a beautiful glass-mosaic flower, and GAVE it to me! I am so pleased! It's now propped up in a window between the computer and the sewing machine, where I can look at both it and my flower-boxes outside at the same time. The mosaic is a single-stemmed five-petaled flower of deep blues and pale purple. (Some of those blues might actually be black.) It'll keep blooming all through the winter. :-)

Bandwidth theft alert - here's a picture! (biggish.) The background bits are clear, showing the color of the base tile. The lighter petals are more purply than they appear on my monitor.

Some of the things Let Go of Clutter (hey, I need an amazon link kickback here) says about paper ).

Wow, there's a lot about paper. More on next rock.
