Just looked up to see a moving van drive by outside my window. Somewhere nearby, a family is setting off to a new home. I don't know who the people are, or where they're going, although I know they must have come from very near me. I can merely imagine things based on the moving van. Are they hopeful and excited? Are they sad or disappointed? Why are they moving? What are they thinking right now?
I bet there are many thousands of moving vans on the roads in the US at this moment. I don't actually know the story in even one case. Given the economy, perhaps more of them are sad than happy -- moving because of financial woes rather than bright new opportunities.
I hope the ones who used to be my neighbors are happy.
