1. Got up way too early. Well, ok, on time -- but way too early.
2. Race. Went great!
3. some other stuff, notably including clean clothing and lunch.
4.
joedecker's art show.
5. square dancing.
For most of these I was on my feet. My little feetsies are a bit tired now!
Race details:
The race is even more crowded and more goofy than I had expected. It's the only foot race I've ever heard of which starts with everyone throwing tortillas in the air. (After a few landed on me, I started picking 'em up and throwing them myself.) I saw the "salmon" (people dressed as fish, running from finish to start). I got my T-shirt.
Official time: 1hr 50. At least I think that's it, assuming the official time is when you finish wandering through the chutes. I'm very pleased with my time. Heck, I didn't even cross the start line until 22 minutes into the race. 1hr28 indicates quite a good pace considering what a zoo it was. (We didn't get to run until well into mile one, and were dodging slow traffic through the entire length of the course.)
Funniest costume I saw: entries from the Most Wanted deck of cards.
I have three blisters, all where my toes fold up to fit inside my shoes. Also lost a bunch of skin where my T-shirt has seams, under my upper arms. Very odd - neither of those areas have been a problem before.
Got my T-shirt and all. Pleased. Happy. Proud. Achey. Tired. Sleep now.
