My house is so clean. Well, okay, mostly it's so uncluttered... no, wait, it's full of schtuff, so I should say instead that the clutter is picked up. Some of it's even been put in the right places.

Housecleaning team was scheduled to arrive to do an "initial cleaning", for evaluation, this morning at ten. I got up at 8:30 and started getting surfaces clear of junk. There was a lot to do. It is IMPRESSIVE what a deadline will do for me!

The cleaning people skipped a lot of steps, so we won't set up a regular thing with those folks. Except for vacuuming, a lot of the house is just as not-clean as it was before. But WOW does it ever look different! Now if I could just keep putting things away on a regular basis... heh. Wonder why that's so hard for me.

I don't mail physical letters very often. I don't buy stamps often, either, and I rarely know off the top of my head what the US postal rate is for a first-class letter. When the stamps themselves don't in any way indicate what they're worth, and I have an eclectic assortment probably dating back to the mid-eighties, that adds an extra dimension of fun.

This page is very useful.

I've just started learning Egyptian Arabic from a set of Pimsleur tapes. This is so cool! I'm having a great time!

I like it when Rob's out of the house, so I can respond aloud to the tape without feeling self-conscious about it. This time, Kim walked in while I was in the middle of the lesson. The tape had just asked me something, so she wondered if I was greeting her when I said "Kwayyissa awi, shokran." (Very well, thank you.) :-)

I love trying to guess at elements of grammar and syntax from a small sample of dialogue. I am having fun trying to figure out negation, and so far I'm at a loss for when exactly things are gender-specific and when they're not.

What I can say so far )

I can't write any of it. I think I'm not supposed to start writing until lesson twenty-eight or so. Heh. Too bad; I have another book for that.

Wheee!
