Man oh man, someone flipped the great big switch in the master control room and it is FALL now. Wednesday it was summer: clear, pretty. Wednesday/Thursday midnight it started to rain, and it basically hasn't let up. Power's been out at my house since around eight PM yesterday. Tree limbs and garbage have been strewn about by the wind. Driving last night was interesting: moving back and forth from well-lit sections to not-at-all-lit sections meant that often it was very difficult to see something like an intersection or a chunk of tree until I was upon it. The pool in my back yard is bidding fair to flood; the drainage pump is electric and I have so far been too lazy to bail it with a bucket.

I'm disappointed that we haven't had much in the way of thunder or lightning. If cars have to dodge garbage cans back East, we at least get a good show to go along with it. I do so love thunderstorms. (Love thunderstorms? Bad pilot. No biscuit.)

Thank goodness the roof is holding. Ever since I first opened the door of this house, my newly purchased first-ever house, and saw an enormous waterfall in the upstairs hallway, I've had a bit too much awareness that a roof can just lose it.

Wonder how much snow Yosemite is getting. That's where I'll be this weekend. It almost feels like I'm "cheating": being out of town means I get a hot shower, a bonus extra I otherwise wouldn't have.

Must tease Rob: the instant he gets on a plane for the East Coast, things here turn messy. :-)

I am planning to see an interesting show Sunday night. One gal has already asked me to pick up a copy of the video. :-)
