The upholstery guy couldn't make our noon appointment. Naturally, he didn't know this until I was already home. That cost me a half hour plus possibly lunch with a friend.

So now I get to do another round-trip-at-lunchtime on Friday. And this is all for the privilege of spending a big wad o' money, just because nobody makes/sells couches for real humans any more. We don't need a nicer couch this badly, do we? Do we?

Around my monitor are several small yellow Post-It notes. I can tell how long it's been since an office move by how thickly my entire work area is encrusted with sticky notes. One on the upper left corner says "Remember to EAT! :-)".

My next unscheduled time-unit is about an hour long, Friday evening.

There's no more lemon Calistoga fizzy-water in the cafeteria. I wiped out the supply completely. I started in on the supply of Coke.

Good workout this morning. I feel more calm, more centered, after one of those. I bet 90% of this is emotional: I think well of myself for having done it.

Quote of the day: "The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers." (Thomas Jefferson)
