For a while I've felt vaguely unhappy that there's no good way to go back and browse anything older than the last sixty or eighty posts in my journal. Well, I'm finally starting to use the "Memories" system. I'm twisting its original intent a little, perhaps; I'm using it more like an index. I've got probably too many keywords total, and a penchant for marking a single post with too many at a time, but hey, it's a whole lot better than nothing.
I've indexed back to January 1, 2002. It takes a LONG TIME. Every time I click on the Previous Day button, my browser takes anywhere from three to ten seconds to load the page. Then I click Comment On This, five to ten seconds. Then Add To Memories, three seconds, then Submit, five seconds... plus my own think-time. I can get through a month in twenty minutes or so.
Wish I could find some of the really fun comment-threads I've participated in on other people's journals. :-)
