Saturday was very productive. Cleaned the sewing room - wow, what a bunch of junk had piled up in there! I found places for all of it, and now the floor has nothing on it that shouldn't be there. Washed the futon sheets and made it up like a decent bed again. The state of that room was really bugging me and I'm so glad it's better now!

Then did a bunch of errands, driving around town with Rick in tow. Bailed on the mall after twenty minutes of orbiting in the parking lot. Falafel for lunch nearby instead, and who cares about the actual mall errand. Then a quick jog over to LeatherMasters to replace my leather pride and gay pride bumperstickers. Red fades WAY too fast in the California sun. While there, picked up a new set of fleece-lined cuffs and Uncle Abdul's book. But found to my dismay they don't sell bodypiercing jewelry any more. Pierce Ink is just nearby and they didn't want to compete. OK, over to Pierce Ink for some 16ga earrings and varied color captive-beads. They installed the earrings with an insertion taper (those earlobes are tender now) and I now have some very pretty "fiberoptic" beads for my nipple ring!

Tried to get Long's to fill a prescription phoned in on Friday. No go. Either they can't find the right Smith or my doctor never called. *sigh* Probably a good idea to try again tomorrow when someone with a less obvious forehead slope is on shift in the pharmacy.

Got ready for Christina's party - she's one of Rob's friends who's been trying to get us over to her place for a while now, but scheduling conflicts keep happening. Rob was late getting back from Sacramento (temporary flight restrictions all over the place) so I spent an hour or so practicing cracking my signal whip. Learned two new cracks. I do so love making noise with that thing.

Party was fun. Most people there were pilots! Yay! At last, I can say I have gone to a party where I knew no one and I actually did not have a hideous rotten time trying to find things to talk about. That was way cool.

This is getting long. Sunday in another post.

Sorted and numbered my photos from the cave trip. Tried again for the prescription at Long's, with an intelligent person behind the desk; no go. Searched my car trunk for the mysteriously missing CD jewel cases (six of 'em that have been missing for well over a year now - by now it's more of an eternal quest than an actual attempt to find the things). No cases, of course, but did find stuff belonging to my housemate's ex-wife. How long has THAT been in my car trunk? I work with her new husband, so I can bring that stuff in...

Then it was time to shower for a birthday party I was going to. Of COURSE, running late. Duh. What to bring? Quick phone call to hostess. Bring EVERYTHING. OK, that makes it easy! And thank goodness the party happened to be held at a location directly adjacent to a Burger King. Mmmm. Calories. Food is Good.

Of the people who were attending, I had actually met two of them before. But it was very clear how much each of these people cared about their friend the birthday boy and wanted to have a good celebration for him. So we all had something in common: we all think he's terrific. :-) I immediately felt at home. What a great group of people.

I didn't get home until late, but that was okay. What WASN'T okay was that it took me until 10AM the next morning to realize that someone else's car keys got thrown into my purse. Ooooooops. Well, apparently she got a ride, and she's got the keys back now, so if all's well that ends well then it must be okay.

This morning's to do list: call dr. call Long's. get prescription DAMMIT. find out whose keys these are. figure out how to return them. get gas. go to bank. go to AAA to renew membership. get replacement car reg stickers - I paid, they just never arrived. mail something my mom left at my place awhile back. *wheee*, that's a long enough list. I blew off the bank and the post office, but got everything else done, thank goodness!

Still glowing from the party. 8-)
