Friday night I read a book.
Saturday morning I read a different book.
Saturday afternoon I went to Lily's pool party. Great fun! Got thrown in the pool a few times, threw other people in the pool a few times, etc. Got to talk to Amanda and play with her daughter a bit - what a cutie.
Don't remember what I did Saturday evening.

Sunday was "CJ Day"! Chris and I had noticed that often, I'm not very assertive about what I want to do during any given chunk of free time. So we scheduled a day when I would be responsible for making all the decisions, and Chris would just have veto power (in case I said we should spend the afternoon scrubbing my exhaust manifold with toothbrushes or something). I had been looking forward to CJ Day for a long time. So...

Sunday morning we had breakfast at the Original Pancake House. Yum!
Then we drove down to Monterey. On the drive down, we stopped at a little stained glass shop. Very pretty stuff! We left when I felt like leaving.
Sunday afternoon we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! Years since I have been there. I got to run around like a kid, going to whatever exhibits caught my fancy. (I did take a lot of suggestions; Chris had been to the Aquarium about ten years more recently than I had.)
Sunday evening we ate at a restaurant I picked out. I chose it mainly because it had a non-seafood entree, so it's not like the choice was vast, but hey, I still got to pick it.
Later Sunday evening we wandered around and looked in all the little shops. I stopped at every jewelry store I saw and ogled the opals. Pretty pretty pretty.
I also stopped along the sidewalk and attempted to make friends with some of the stray cats that live around there. It was CJ Day, so I could stop if I wanted to. (The cats were less accommodating, however.)
We also rode a little video-arcade-type ride that simulates a roller coaster. How childish. :-) I got JUST the right amount of encouragement to try it out.

So -- what a wonderful weekend! TWO books, a party, and CJ Day with the aquarium, opals, and cats! What more could a gal want?

(Except chocolate, of course. But I did have some of that already.)

I am so spoiled.
