News flash: I do NOT like the color of the sky right now. My Midwest soul is starting to recognize it.

Er, hm, okay, a little better now. Less yellow tinge.

Hail? Or tornado?

The deadly lemon sky?

I was thinking tornado. Wouldn't be surprised if there were funnel-shaped proto-tornados somewhere in the area today. But now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised if there were hail, either; thunderstorms (and we have an invigorating loud fun one right now) do that.

Yeah, that yellowish-brownish-and-slightly-greenish one. My cats were unconcerned by that, however; they were freaking at the NOOOOISE. :-) (I love my kitties!)

We had a few moments of pea-sized hail "look Dad, it's sleeting outside!" but it wasn't quite bad enough to trigger the listen-for-rumbling reflex... OTOH, my six-year-old decided that the peak of the lightning was the perfect time to run out into the front yard and then away down the sidewalk. Sigh.

listen-for-rumbling / hail ?

Heh, yeah. I used to go outside during thunderstorms all the time back home, but I bet it's harder to watch one's child do it than to do it oneself.
