It's expensive to eat often, too, unless I'm careful. There's no discount for small portions at lunch, and snacks aren't cheap. I may have to cook again.

Do you have a fridge at work where you could stash leftovers until it's time to eat again? I know most restaurants 'round here have ridiculously huge servings at lunch ~ enough to feed two to three people! alternately, can you stash your desk with somewhat-healthy nonperishable snacks? i'm partial to nuts (peanuts, almonds or soynuts) or graham crackers at the moment. you will adjust. it just takes some time.

and you don't need kids to cook for you. what you need is a single friend who loves to cook but has no one to feed! and as luck would have it, i happen to know such a person! ;-)
