Unique Interests
Meme stolen from
firecat
Items from my interest list that no one else has in their interest lists:
embedded software (I'm mildly surprised no one else lists this)
n47490 (the plane I took my checkride in, and have since sold - not at all surprised it's unique)
pitts (the aerobatic biplane - I'm not very surprised at the uniqueness of this one)
square dance calling (I'd be stunned if another caller were on LJ)
taildraggers (with so many flyers around, the uniqueness of this is odd)
I think perhaps my interest list is too short. I can think of a few things to add, and some of them might well be unique in the LJ universe.

Do you ever think of doubling up on things, for example, "west wing" and "the west wing" just to make sure you've got your bases all covered, or am I just the most anal-retentive person in the universe?
N.B. I won't go as far as "rocky horror", "rocky horror picture show", "the rocky horror picture show", and "RHPS"...that's just sad.
Oh, wait, I just did.

’Nother caller, OK; ’nother dancer, not nearly so unusual.

Uniquities
(Isn’t that a wonderful neologism?)
aladdin lamps—most of LJ’s user base is gonna be too young to care about antique high-end kerosene lamps.
fremont jones—obscure detective character. Not nearly enough people read Dianne’s books.
gervase fen—another obscure detective character, author dead and out of fashion, and a cult figure at best when he was alive.
laura lippmann—I have no idea why nobody else cares about Laura; she’s a king-hell, multiple-award-winning mystery writer. See below.
remuddle—I suppose not many LJers read Old House Journal, so they don’t know what a remuddle is.
samuel marchbanks—one of my alter egos, creation of the Canadian writer Robertson Davies. Now my beard is whitening, I’m starting to look like Marchbanks as well as sound and write like him.
tess monaghanSee entry for Laura Lippmann. Tess is Laura’s detective character.
