Wow, somebody made a comment that I am not authorized to view, yet DW made sure to let me know it exists. I don’t know where; it could be on a post of mine or in response to a comment I made elsewhere. Who knows?

if it's any consolation, i don't think it's possible to make a comment to your journal that you would not be authorized to see.

Historically when I've had that happen, it's been from a spammer who has already been suspended.

As it happens, I heard from the person directly! It was a post that had since been locked down. Mystery solved, at least this time.

I agree that it's likely a spammer.

But perhaps instead you will get email offering to sell you initiation in the arcane arts, for only a vast sum of money and ritual humiliations. :D

Arcane arts sound fun, but I already got initiated into one not-as-arcane art and am still paying off the bills! :) :)

I can't imagine you making or receiving a comment that would be blocked. One of my frustrations with DW is they are so hands off that nothing ever seems to become more functional or an improvement.

Yeah, I get the feeling they simply don't have the personnel or the time to do ... really anything at all. It says a lot that they depend enormously on volunteers for coding on the site. (That in turn is complicated by the fact that, I'm told, everything is written in Perl. I kid you not. Perl. I can't imagine they get much done very quickly.)
