Brains are weird

I just saw a 45RPM of Hava Nagila. I haven't heard that song in ages - easily years. I just saw the song title printed on the label of a record. And I realized, slowly, that I knew all the words. (It should be noted that I am not Jewish, nor do I know more than a few words of Hebrew. I never did know the meaning of any of the words of this song. But I can sing the whole thing.) It's probably been ten years, and it may have been twenty, since I've seen or heard the words.

Brains are weird.

My dad's old bluegrass band played that song. He jokingly called it a "portuguess folk song" (he's portugues).

Yeah, brains are weird all right. When you mentioned the song title, MY brain immediately jumped to my dad's version: "Hava Nagila, Have a tortilla"

Yup. Weird.

When I told Rob I remembered the words, he started making up goofy things like that. "Wouldn't you like to have a Nagila too", he said (to the tune of the old Dr. Pepper ads). Then we came up with the Hava Nagila Monster, with the face of a lizard and the tail turning into one of those little spinning clacker thingies.
