Falling behind

I was supposed to have sixty-six square dance sequences written by the time I went to sleep yesterday. I managed to reach sixty-three. I woke up too early this morning, my mind racing about how little I'd done.

Some days are better than others. Yesterday I would sit there just staring at some weird formation I'd created, thinking of things to do next and discarding them, for easily twenty minutes at a time. I'd get stuck and not be able to get myself un-stuck. I can't afford to be doing that.

Today I also have other stuff to do. There's the last and hardest bit of my taxes, which are due to the accountant in a week or so. I'd also like to do laundry, set up the new cat box enclosure, and spend an hour (or two if I can get it) doing some work-related stuff so I'm ready for tomorrow morning. All of that would be a nice relaxed day if I didn't also need to spend all day writing choreo.

I feel like I've traded one frantic crunch project (the one at work) for another. I want a break.

When I get to that point, I realize that I need to start cutting back on what I take on. I always end up feeling much better when I give things up.

May your choreographical muse be in fine form today and you get all you want accomplished with ease and grace and have fun doing it.

Yeah, I've got to face the same -- give something up. After my foot problems, I have only a few things left in my life: books, cats, Rob, square dance calling, and work. When I'm this busy it's really square dance calling and work. I'd love to ditch work but I can't.

Gotta face it. Don't wanna face it.
