I was probably not sick enough as a child to warrant a tonsillectomy. (Even if I had been, my parents were not the doctor-goin' types. I saw one when I needed shots in order to be permitted to go to school, and I laid eyes on several the day my brother broke his arm. I think that's it.) Now, of course, I'm sort of wishing I had had my tonsils removed long ago. I suspect people bounce back from it quicker at age 4 than at age 38. :-)

I tend not to get everything that goes around, but when I do get something I get it BAD. I've had colds that have lasted over a month. Flu goes away much faster, sigh.
