Bits of good news
1. The car is IN! They'll hang onto it until the new year, when I'm back in town. I didn't get the same service rep I got last time; my favorite, a good customer advocate who actually BELIEVES you when you say something like "the brakes are grinding", wasn't available today. But they'll have the car for two weeks, and if just once during that time they send a guy out to drive the thing around the block, that'll be all it takes. The symptoms are no longer subtle.
2. Work stuff is ready for me to leave. Not perfect, and of course I wish it were, but good enough. YAY.
3. Yesterday I knocked off eleven things from my to do list, including stuff like "pay bills", and today so far I've wiped out another eight.
4. The remaining... um, lessee... ten things left on my to do list aren't precisely unimportant, but they're noncritical enough that if I don't do them it won't be a disaster. Except my dad is getting coal this year. He doesn't have anything on his wish list.
