And people around me just go about their daily lives, unchanged... because they are not affected.

For those who feel unaffected-- they will be. We live in a system, and we affect each other, and no amount of sneering about "the reality-based economy" alters that.

I think that a lot of people don't know what to do, or are doing things quietly.

And I probably look unchanged, but I'm not feeling that way.

Yup, and what's worse, the human passion for Final Battles/Solutions has caused so much cruel and exhausting trouble, and so much sneering at process proposals.
