WOW. That was SO COOL. It was terrific, it was amazing. I am jazzed!

I'm dangerous!

My everyday life is going to be a bit of a letdown, I can tell.

OK, I'll start at the beginning. Saturday. Up early for any last minute packing, leave four days' worth of food for the cats, head out to the airport. I did NOT want to go. I felt alone, I didn't want to leave the kitties, I was apprehensive about making a fool of myself during flight training, I was stressed... basically I wanted the whole thing to go away. Chris, who took me to the airport, was wonderfully supportive. He reminded me that I always get like this before doing something and then I go and I have a good time and afterward I'm always happy I've done it. Oh well, too late to back out anyhow.

On the connection out of Phoenix the passenger next to me was the most odoriferous person it has ever been my dubious pleasure to encounter. He was quite drunk, and reeked of not bathing as well as of alcohol. He purchased several drinks during the flight. I got a crick in my neck from trying to breathe the air right next to the window, which was the freshest. He went to the bathroom several times, including once while we were taxiing, and at the end of the flight it was obvious that he had also lost control of his bladder while seated. I was glad to get off that plane.

Rob met me at the airport and took me to Waffle House. Ahh, back in an area of the country where there are Waffle House restaurants! Unfortunately, this Waffle House had an aversion to cooking their food. Twice in a row, Rob got his bacon nearly raw, and I could have poured my scrambled eggs off the plate. I have a thing about uncooked egg... So we cut our losses and headed out to Kroger's for snack food. We'd been warned that the training center had no cafeteria. Many PowerBars in hand, we got to the hotel and crashed. We needed to meet the rest of the class at 8am local time (6am by my body clock) the next morning.
